OUR CURRICULUM
A Personalised Curriculum Built Around Each Learner
At Fast Forward School, the curriculum is designed for young people aged 15 to 19 who need a more flexible, supportive and individual approach to education. It is built to help learners re-engage with school, make meaningful progress and prepare for life beyond education.
A Broad and Balanced Education
The curriculum combines academic learning, vocational study, personal development and preparation for adulthood. Learners work towards recognised qualifications in core subjects such as English and maths, while also accessing a wider programme that supports confidence, communication, independence and future planning.
Learning that Feels Relevant
Fast Forward believes young people make the best progress when learning feels purposeful and connected to real life. Alongside classroom-based learning, students can access practical and vocational opportunities that help them build skills, explore interests and understand how education links to future training, employment and adult life.
Teaching and Support
Teaching is tailored to the individual, with small groups, personalised planning and targeted support to help each learner access the curriculum successfully. Staff adapt learning to suit different needs, abilities and starting points, creating a calm and structured environment where young people can build confidence and achieve success.
Preparation for adulthood runs through the whole curriculum. This includes careers education, employability skills, independent living, personal development and support with next steps. The aim is to help every learner leave Fast Forward with greater confidence, stronger skills and a clearer sense of direction for the future.
