SAFEGUARDING

Keeping Every Learner Safe

Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do at Fast Forward School. We are committed to promoting the safety, wellbeing and welfare of every learner and creating an environment where young people feel safe, valued and supported. The handbook describes safeguarding as central to the school culture, and the school’s Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy states that the DSL leads on child protection and wider safeguarding across the provision.
PROTECTING EVERY LEARNER

Our Safeguarding Approach

Fast Forward works to make sure concerns are identified early, taken seriously and responded to appropriately. Staff receive regular safeguarding training and understand their responsibilities in recognising concerns, sharing information and following the correct procedures. The school also works closely with families and external agencies to support learners and protect their welfare.

Key Safeguarding Contacts

During term time, the DSL or DDSL will be available during school hours to respond to safeguarding concerns.
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Georgia Morfitt
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL): Nicola Ryan

Reporting a Concern

If you have a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a learner, please contact the school as soon as possible. All concerns are taken seriously, recorded appropriately and managed in line with the school’s safeguarding procedures. Learners are encouraged to speak up if something does not feel right, either for themselves or for someone else.
If there is an immediate risk of harm, contact the emergency services by calling 999.

Additional Support

If the DSL or DDSL is not available, the handbook signposts families and learners to the following services for immediate support:
Childline: 0800 1111
Hull Children’s Social Care – EHASH: 01482 448879
Out of hours: 01482 300304
